Testimony from the Shanxi province in China
War as experienced by former victims of the sexual slavery system in villages in China

Ms. Gou Xicui is from Yu district in Shanxi province of China in 1942. When she was fifteen years old, she was abducted and confined in a Japanese military nearby strongpoint in Jin-gui-she. There she was raped by soldiers in the afternoon, and by commanders at night. Ms. Gou Xicui was able to return home 20 days after her abduction since her family managed to pay off the Japanese military. Ms. Gou Xicui was taken back to the camp twice and raped, even after this. Ms. Gou Xicui still suffers from severe PTSD, which was caused by the sexual violence she endured at the hands of the Japanese military. Ms. Gou Xicui has not been to Japan in three years. She is making this trip specifically to participate in the 9th Annual Asia Solidarity Conference.
Following Ms. Gou Xicui's talk, Lawyer Ms Kang Jian from China will give us an update on the the latest research progress on "comfort women" in China.
Please join us in active participation!
