On Monday, 29 Jan 2007, the Tokyo High Court ordered NHK et al to pay VAWW-NET Japan as compensation 2 million yen (1 million of which is jointly obliged by the two firms under NHK's umbrella). The court ruled that, because of political concern, NHK had distorted the content of the programme on the International Women's War Crimes Tribunal on Japan's Military Sexual Slavery.
